Work in Progress

Last week an artist friend, Lorraine, invited me to visit her horse and his environment, with permission to draw him. He moves a lot.

In these two ipad drawings he’s being led back to his paddock by my host’s friend, after being ridden and challenged by Lorraine and the trainer.

This large white earthenware bowl is decorated using underglazes, and is coied from one of the gorgeious fabric designs of Josef Frank, whose designs are sold though a swedish company called Svengst Tenn.

Frank was a Jewish refugee and former architect from Vienna who escaped to Sweden, where he remained until he died in ‘71.

I love his designs - each is fresh and curvy and precise, even though invented.

Its my newest piece just out of the kiln. The only sad thing is that it is fully Frank’s design and not mine!
